Bon Ton Vintage

Published January 1, 2000

In 1984, jazz musicians Barbra and John Kauffman decided to convert their love for vintage shopping and collecting into a business. After a start in a small space "off the square" in Downtown Waxahachie, Texas, the Forreston Vintage Market was born in an old building in Forreston, Texas (10 miles south). The second floor of this building was devoted to the "Bon Ton Vintage" boutique. This store-within-a-store featured an endless collection of vintage apparel for people of all ages. In 2015, with the closing of the Forreston Vintage Market, Bon Ton was recreated as "La Petite Bon Ton" on the 3rd floor of Old Town Village Antiques in Downtown Waxahachie. This relocation rejuvenated Barbra and continued the legacy. After Barbra's death, Bon Ton was purchased in 2018, by Coy and Virginia Sevier who operate the boutique today. To this day, Bon Ton Vintage continues the tradition of curated vintage clothes and provides the vintage shopper with a unique experience not found anywhere else.
